Adalat Advokatfirma assisted artist with cessation of forced psychiatric care

The law firm Adalat has successfully represented a client in securing the termination of a compulsory mental health care order. The client, an artist in his twenties, was previously sentenced to the measure following a violent incident involving an NRK television personality in 2020.

The Oslo District Court has now ruled that the compulsory mental health care order shall be terminated. The prosecution initially sought an extension of the order but changed its position after hearing the defence’s evidence presented during the court proceedings.

«We are pleased that the prosecution reconsidered its position and, following the presentation of the evidence, supported our client’s request for termination of the order. Naturally, he is very satisfied that the court granted his petition, allowing him to continue his life as a free individual,» said attorney Lars Mathias Undheim, who represented the client before the District Court.

Adalat has assisted the client throughout the proceedings and regularly handles cases involving compulsory mental health care, criminal law, and human rights. If you require legal assistance in a similar matter, please do not hesitate to contact us. Read more about the case in TV 2.
